Texas has just won its independence from Mexico, and the young republic looks to secure its future. In this tense frontier tale, the mission to safeguard that future falls to two unlikely figures: Anthony Quinn as Erastus “Deaf” Smith, a determined man who communicates without sound, and his partner Johnny Ears, portrayed by [Franco Nero]. President Sam Houston tasks them with halting General Lucius Morton and his schemes to push Texas toward annexation by the United States.
