Young Hassem, son of a powerful sheik, seeks his uncle’s murderer at the start of the Hijra. Traveling to Mecca, he instead meets the Prophet Muhammad, embraces Islam, and returns home to spread the new faith. His conversion clashes with his father’s feudal interests, leading the sheik to curse and persecute the converts.
