Based on 13th‑century Bornean sacrifice rituals, the film follows Dr. Sani and his expedition as they search for his missing wife, lost while studying a mysterious burial pole called the Jerunei. Trekking the jungle, the team suffers hallucinations, hostile phenomena and transports, until one member is possessed by a force from the Jerunei.
