Curse of the Puppet Master

Magrew kills Joey because the bully witnessed Pinhead attack him and could expose the living puppets to the outside world. Additionally, Joey had been harassing Jane and threatening Robert, making him a liability. Magrew sends Blade and Tunneler to Joey's house and murders him to protect his secret experiment and maintain control over his puppet operation.

Earlier, Joey harasses Jane at the House of Marvels and witnesses Pinhead come to life and attack him, making him a dangerous witness.

Matt was killed and his soul was transferred into one of the puppets. When Jane asks about Matt early in the film, Magrew claims he left because his father was ill.
