David Gates, a cryptozoologist, is hired to document his investigations, including an unsettling case involving a town where all residents have disappeared. While documenting the mystery, David’s life is put in danger as he uncovers more than he bargained for. Strange effects begin to manifest within his own body, seemingly linked to the vanished town. His investor then tasks him with filming an exorcism, a field far beyond his expertise. Already battling unnatural symptoms, David finds himself confronting pure evil and fears that inhuman forces are consuming him.
