It follows the unlikely friendship between Ioan, a Romanian who fled the post‑Communist turmoil seeking a better future, and Michele, an Italian youth struggling on the margins of a Western society that offers scarce jobs. Their bond unfolds against a backdrop of a West still reeling from the collapse of communism on one side and a capitalist system driving fierce competition and widening social inequality on the other.
