In wartime Italy, nuns at a convent risk everything to smuggle Jewish children from a nearby internment camp, amid torture, killing and vicious passions. An Italian officer suspects but turns a blind eye. When German forces take over the camp, the nuns’ rescue work becomes far more perilous, demanding extraordinary courage.
