In August 1991, as Estonia regains its independence from the USSR, the nation retrieves nearly $1 billion worth of gold bullion that had been hidden in Paris for half a century and transports it to the national bank. Meanwhile, Russian mobsters devise a daring scheme to seize the treasure by plunging the capital’s power grid into darkness at midnight, setting the stage for a high‑stakes confrontation.
