Children of the Corn: Genesis

Tim and Allie are stranded after their car overheats in the punishing desert heat. With no help in sight, they stumble upon a remote farmhouse and knock on the door, hoping for a way to contact someone. A mysterious man who calls himself the Preacher and his wife Oksana answer, setting an uneasy tone from the start.

Inside, they are offered shelter for the night but are given clear, chilling terms: they must be gone by morning and they should stay away from spaces not opened to them. The hosts exert quiet control, making the house feel claustrophobic and watched.

Over dinner the atmosphere grows increasingly strange as rooms seem to shift with the night and the hosts' quiet surveillance intensifies. Tim and Allie try to rationalize the oddities as local quirks and decide to stay, hoping safety will follow.

Allie slips away to the outhouse and discovers a garage behind the farmhouse that has been converted into a cult worship space. In a crumbling outbuilding she hears faint cries from a child and realizes the house hides something terrifying.

Back in the kitchen, Tim brushes off Allie’s fears as stress, delaying any action. Allie grows more alarmed, sensing a danger deeper than simple odd behavior.

Tim confronts the Preacher about the voices, and the moment twists into something more sinister as his gaze lingers on the Preacher’s camera. He slips into a hypnotic trance, the spell of the house taking hold.

That night, the child enters the house and plants a seed of dread in Allie, who feels a premonition that something has marked her. The seed binds her fate to the haunting presence that now rules the home.

A cold, creeping fear spreads as the front door locks itself, trapping the couple inside. Allie attempts to call the police, but the line is inexplicably cut halfway through the call.

Allie’s dreams that night are vivid and terrifying, imagining herself being hunted and murdered by children in a moonlit cornfield. The nightmare seems almost real and foreshadows the danger closing in on them.

Next day a police officer arrives to check the disturbance, only to be lifted and hurled by an unseen force. The officer’s body is torn from the world in an instant, confirming the true danger of the house.

Tim learns from the Preacher that the supernatural force needs children to survive and that Allie has already been marked. This revelation confirms they are not guests but captives bound to the haunting.

A parcel delivery driver arrives with supplies and offers Tim and Allie a ride into town. Tim senses danger and seizes a risky chance to flee with Allie in the abandoned police vehicle.

They reach the main road and briefly glimpse freedom, but the child attacks again, killing Helen and unleashing a violent psychokinetic force that sends their car into a devastating crash. Tim is killed in the wreck, leaving Allie to suffer the consequences.

Back at the farmhouse, a group of mothers and their children wait in the shadows. In a trance, Allie sits beside The Child in the outbuilding and begins to sing, a moment of terrifying calm. A grotesque image lingers as the corpse of the cop drops from the sky, sealing the ritual.
