Charlie’s Angels

In the vibrant city of Rio De Janeiro, the film kicks off with Kristen Stewart portraying Sabina Wilson, a confident and skilled Angel who is effortlessly charming and formidable. She cleverly catches the attention of her target, Jonny Smith, played by Chris Pang, who makes sexist remarks that ignite Sabina’s quick wit and combat skills. Demonstrating her expertise, Sabina uses a curtain to subdue him, showcasing her resourcefulness and combat prowess before her fellow Angel, Ella Balinska, joins her in a swift and strategic fight against Smith’s goons. Their actions earn praise from Patrick Stewart, who plays John Bosley, a veteran agent and close ally to the Angels, as he commends their work before they leave with vital intel about Smith.

Meanwhile, a subplot unfolds involving tech innovator Elena Houghlin, portrayed by Naomi Scott, who is deeply involved in developing a groundbreaking energy device called Callisto. Elena discusses her concerns about a dangerous flaw in the technology with her boss, Peter Fleming, played by Nat Faxon, who prefers to hide any issues to protect their company’s reputation. Elena’s insistence on transparency eventually catches the attention of Hannah Hoekstra, her secretary Ingrid, who later shows her a card bearing the Angels’ logo, hinting at the secret society’s presence in her life.

John Bosley, the seasoned agent played by Patrick Stewart, celebrates his retirement with Rebekah “Boz” Bosley, played by Elizabeth Banks, and the other Bosleys, acknowledging his long service and friendship with the mysterious “Charlie,” the original Angel. John receives a heartfelt farewell call from Charlie himself, expressing gratitude and well-wishes for his last mission.

The story transitions to Hamburg, where Elena and her assistant Langston, played by Noah Centineo, team up with Fleming to present Callisto’s capabilities, promising to revolutionize clean energy by seamlessly connecting to various appliances. While Brock, the CEO of Brok Industries, played by Sam Claflin, is impressed, it becomes evident that he and Fleming are secretly undermining Elena’s project, revealing their greed and hidden agendas. This dynamic sets the stage for conflict, as Elena’s genuine intentions clash with their corporate manipulations.

As Elena and her allies continue their investigation, they meet Edgar Bosley, played by Djimon Hounsou, who arranges an assignment to track Elena’s boss Fleming. Their mission takes them to a café where Elena confides in Edgar about her plans to expose Brok Industries’ dangerous use of Callisto while warning of its potential to cause neural damage or trigger EMPs capable of brain aneurysms. However, the plot thickens when Hodak, a ruthless assassin played by Jonathan Tucker, lurks nearby. Edgar notices Hodak’s presence and attempts to warn Elena, but he attacks before they can escape. A tense fight ensues as Edgar and the Angels spring into action to defend Elena. During their escape, Hodak fires a machine gun at them, striking Edgar in the neck and causing the van to crash into a river. Though Edgar succumbs to his injuries, Jane Balinska’s character manages to free Elena, and Sabina, with her motorcycle, trips Hodak, who then triggers an explosion to get away.

Injured but determined, Elena joins the team at a safe house, where Jane, visibly upset over Edgar’s death, seeks revenge against Hodak. The team uncovers that Hodak was targeting Elena because someone wants to keep Callisto’s dangerous capabilities hidden. They learn that Fleming has taken the remaining prototypes of Callisto and plan to sell them to the highest bidder, leading them to Istanbul.

The team, now equipped with advanced gadgets provided by The Saint, travels to Istanbul. To track Fleming’s dealings, Jane reconnects with Fatima, a woman from her past, who aids them in locating Fleming’s secret sale at the Turkish Derby. The investigation peaks at a rock quarry where Fleming attempts to sell Callisto to Jonny Smith, with Hodak present to oversee the transaction. The situation turns deadly when Fleming hesitates, deeming the demonstration too risky, and Hodak executes him with a gunshot. The team fights valiantly against the assassins, but Smith and Hodak manage to escape, with Boz also gone during the chaos.

Suspecting betrayal within their ranks, the team fears that Boz might be a mole, especially after a dangerous explosion forces them to flee. Elena’s life is in peril, and John Bosley reappears, warning them of the imminent threat. The story intensifies as Boz reveals her truth: she had to leave because she knew John was the real traitor plotting to craft her own network of criminals. Clues lead them to a covert operation at a lavish party hosted by Brock, where Callisto’s true power is revealed. Elena faces John, who ultimately forces her to reprogram Callisto for his own malicious use. When Elena refuses, John reveals that Langston is being held hostage, escalating the tension.

Sabina and Jane infiltrate the party disguised as guests, confronting Hodak once again, and Jane combats him in a dramatic showdown on a balcony, where Hodak is impaled on an ice sculpture. Meanwhile, John’s plans to trigger an EMP are thwarted by the team’s quick actions, culminating in an intense battle involving disguised Angels. Boz’s strategic allies help subdue John’s men, and Sabina delivers the final blow to John himself, who is unmasked as the true villain trying to establish his criminal empire.

The film concludes with Elena being officially inducted as an Angel by Kelly Garrett, a classic member played by Jaclyn Smith. She undergoes training alongside other notable recruits like [Danica Patrick], [Ronda Rousey], and [Laverne Cox], engaging in daring skydiving exercises. With Elena confidently landing her jump and rejoining Sabina and Jane, the film ends on a hopeful note for the new generation of Angels, emphasizing themes of empowerment, loyalty, and justice.

During the credits, Brock is shown being apprehended, and Elena begins her new journey as an Angel, embracing her role in protecting the world from unseen threats—her adventure only just beginning.
