Charlie, a small boy living in a big city, is happiest lying on the highest branch of a tree, letting his imagination wander—often to thoughts of Emma. Below, his stout grandfather sits on the ground, flipping through the same newspaper. From time to time Charlie climbs down, diving into varied adventures that take him far beyond his tranquil perch.
