The emotional climax of the fictional Hockey World Cup sees India battling Pakistan. Team captain Kabir Khan decides to take a critical penalty stroke but unfortunately misses, leading to India's defeat, which sets off a chain of consequences.

In the wake of the loss, a photograph of Kabir Khan with the Pakistani captain emerges, inciting a media frenzy. Accusations of treachery surface against Khan, implying that his Muslim identity influenced his performance and leading to societal backlash.

Amidst the persecution and backlash, Kabir Khan and his mother Joyoshree Arora are forced to leave their ancestral home. The prejudice against them deepens, leading them to a state of exile from society.

Seven years later, Mr. Tripathi meets with Uttamaji to discuss the state of women's hockey in India. Tripathi expresses his doubt about women's potential in sports, but Uttamaji brings up Kabir Khan's willingness to coach the women's team.
