Inspired by Franz Kafka’s work, Chytilová creates a rare literary adaptation. Mr. K hoards stolen jewelry at home, rarely letting his wife wear any of it. When the intrusive neighbor Mr. B stops by, a silent cat watches the tension unfold. The quiet cat observes everything, underscoring the odd domestic drama.
