In a glamorous New York City auction, van Gogh's Sunflowers reappear after years of being thought lost. Jirokichi Suzuki and his niece Sonoko win the bid with 300 million dollars and immediately announce a bold plan to bring all seven Sunflowers together for a single worldwide exhibition. The event will be staged in a cliffside gallery in Japan, nicknamed Lake Rock, and protected by seven specialists known as the Seven Samurai.

During the press conference, Kaitou Kid flings a card onto the platform and vanishes in a blinding flash, causing chaos among the crowd. Shinichi Kudo steps forward to assist, and his undercover identity begins to blur with Kid's audacious persona. The Sunflowers' safety becomes a shared objective as the chase unfolds.

A cargo plane carrying the Sunflowers to Japan is sabotaged when a bomb blows out the cargo door, sending paintings spiraling into the sky. Conan Edogawa tracks the chaos from the ground as Kid descends, but the paintings are found abandoned by Kid and the plane lands safely with no casualties.

Back in Tokyo, a second display of Sunflowers opens in a Japanese gallery, and a Kid card arrives signaling another bid to steal. Ai Haibara's daily visits with an elderly woman tie personal memory to the ongoing heist as the pace quickens.

Kid reappears and steals the second Sunflowers, issuing a ransom of ¥10 billion to be delivered within two hours. Suzuki and others scramble to verify the threat while security ramps up around the artwork. The clock starts ticking on a high-stakes heist that could derail the exhibition.

The ransom money sits untouched in an isolated hotel room, guarded by the gallery director, as a hidden danger seems to close in. A suspicious bottle of water triggers a near-lethal trap, prompting Conan and Inspector Bowles to intervene when Kid reappears outside the window. A tense pursuit follows as the room becomes a battleground of wits.

Even as a second attack looms and a phosphine-based danger is suspected, Suzuki decides to keep the Sunflowers exhibition on track. He tightens security with the Seven Samurai and reassures staff that the show will go on, foreshadowing further complications.

On the day of the grand exhibition, Kid returns and briefly impersonates Shinichi to slip into the crowd, leaving a cryptic note for Conan. The Seven Samurai are evacuated and locked down as a fire triggered by a power failure threatens the gallery. Tension peaks as investigators pursue the mystery.

Koichi Azuma, Koji's twin, is found dead after the Sunflowers are recovered. He confesses to killing his brother but denies involvement in the theft, complicating the case and shifting the motive toward a family-driven conspiracy. The investigators press on to untangle truth from deception.

The gallery vaults fail and two Sunflowers become stuck, trapping priceless artworks inside. Kid acts to save at least one painting while Ran Mouri returns to the scene, adding emotional stakes to the technical crisis. The building's integrity falters as alarms scream.

Conan helps rescue the remaining painting as the cliffside gallery begins to cave in. He uses an improvised explosive football to create a pressure change and carve a path through a submerged tunnel, enabling escape and a dramatic rescue.

In the chaotic aftermath, Kaitou Kid faces Inspector Bowles and reveals that Natsumi Miyadai planned to destroy the Sunflowers because she believed they were fakes. He recounts Konosuke Jii's past role in saving the painting during the U.S. air raid decades earlier, tying history to the present caper. The elderly woman involved is revealed to be the same person Haibara spoke with earlier, confirming the long-running connection between the cases. The Sunflowers are preserved, and the mystery is resolved as Conan is rescued and the critical artwork remains intact. The night ends with a sense of closure as the exhibition story ends.
