In 1933, Alex, a young woman feeling trapped in a man's body, moves to Berlin, a city known for its sexual liberation, seeking acceptance and a sense of belonging. She becomes the first transsexual person to undergo surgery, thanks to the support of Doctor Magnus Hirschfeld. However, her journey unfolds against the backdrop of the rising threat of National Socialism, creating a complex and precarious situation.
