Ba‑Woo, a reckless vagabond who gambles, steals and fights for money, hides his true identity and works as a bossam‑kidnapper—abducting widows for remarriage. While carrying out a job he mistakenly seizes Princess Hwain, the daughter of Prince Gwanghae and daughter‑in‑law of his rival Lee Yi‑Cheom. She had been compelled into a secret political marriage with the elder brother of her beloved, only to become a widow when he died on their wedding day.
