Born to Win

J, a former hairdresser, is torn from his old life and breaks up with his wife. He drifts into aimlessness, chasing drug highs through Times Square. To sustain his new existence, he begins dealing drugs for Vivian, a formidable dealer.

J and Billy Dynamite hatch a plan to crack a safe behind a cashier, hoping for a quick score. They map out the steps and prepare to execute it. The plan collapses in panic and miscalculation, leaving them exposed.

The robbery attempt goes wrong and panic erupts. J and Billy flee in a disordered scramble, realizing the danger of their scheme. The failed heist marks a turning point for J.

J crosses paths with Parm, a free-spirited woman who invites him into her apartment. He initially intends to raid her, but their connection grows, and warmth replaces caution.

As J and Parm grow closer, Parm notices the tattoo on his arm that reads 'Born to Win.' The inscription becomes a mirror of J's pride in a life built on risk and deception. It hints at a possible future shaped by choice rather than impulse.

Two dirty policemen appear, forcing J to choose between crime and jail. He agrees to work as a narc, reporting Vivian's operations back to the officers. This shift taints his conscience and tightens Vivian's grip.

J reconnects with Billy, who speaks bluntly about the solace their path provides. In a tense office building scene, Billy injects himself with drugs meant for J, dying in the elevator. J panics and abandons Billy's body in the quiet of the elevator.

Desperate, J and Parm attempt one last escape. Detectives plant drugs on Parm and arrest her, tightening the trap around J. His fate becomes increasingly uncertain.

Back in Vivian's club, J is offered free drugs, a perilous invitation to a hot shot. The danger escalates as he faces what could be his end.

The film ends with J sitting on a bench in Times Square, surrounded by the city’s lights and hum. He contemplates what comes next and whether there is any way out of the life he has chosen.
