Born to Win

J, a former hairdresser, breaks up with his wife and sinks into an aimless drug habit. He starts roaming Times Square and secretly sells drugs for Vivian, a powerful dealer. He believes his life is about love and peace, though his days are fueled by addiction.

J and Billy Dynamite attempt to steal a safe from behind a store's cashier counter. They are confronted during the theft and flee in a chaotic rush.

While trying to steal a car, J meets Parm, a free-spirited girl who takes a liking to him. They return to her apartment, and what begins as a theft plan gradually blossoms into romance.

J and Parm fall in love, and during an intimate moment Parm discovers J's tattoo that reads 'Born to Win.' J feels proud of the tattoo, signaling his belief in a destined path.

Returning to his routine, J's drug habit grows while he and Billy try to reclaim drugs from Stanley's girlfriend. Two dirty cops confront them and threaten jail time, coercing J into working as a narc and reporting Vivian.

Stanley and his men close in on J, who narrowly escapes serious harm. The chase underscores the peril of his new position with the detectives.

After delivering to an airport, J and Parm flee the city to a beach on Long Island and briefly experience happiness. J insists they return to the city to collect payment for the delivery. The trip underscores the fragile balance between romance and obligation.

Back in the city, pressures from Vivian and Stanley mount as the detectives force J to arrange a meeting with Vivian. Vivian senses a trap and refuses to cut a deal, leaving J trapped between criminals and law enforcers. The situation heightens the sense that every move could be his last.

J reunites with Billy, who tells him he values the certainty and purpose their lifestyle provides. They cling to that shared worldview amid the growing danger.

In an office building, Billy injects himself with drugs intended for J and dies from the hot shot. A panicked J abandons Billy's body in the elevator, overwhelmed by guilt and fear.

J and Parm attempt to leave the city, but the detectives plant drugs on Parm and take her away for arrest. J watches as his partner is pulled from him, deepening his sense of doom.

Back at Vivian's club, Vivian gives him free drugs, and both acknowledge that the doses could easily be a hot shot. J sinks deeper into turmoil, facing a bleak, uncertain future.

Alone in Times Square, J sits on a bench and contemplates the ruin of his life. The city hums around him as he confronts the consequences of his choices.
