Bon Cop Bad Cop 2

A body is found hanging on the sign marking the Ontario–Quebec border, triggering an interprovincial investigation. Detectives from the Sûreté du Québec and the Ontario Provincial Police must work together, overcoming cultural differences and prejudices to solve the murder.

The deceased is identified as Benoit Brisset, a hockey executive, tying the murder to the world of professional hockey. The identification sharpens the investigative focus and pushes the detectives to pursue new leads that could crack the case.

The investigators uncover a key clue pointing to Luc Therrien, a man connected to Brisset. A confrontation erupts there, and Therrien is imprisoned in the trunk of Bouchard's car. Bouchard then promises to attend his daughter Gabrielle's ballet recital, which adds personal stakes to the pursuit.

After attending the recital, the detectives return to their car only to find it being towed from a no-parking zone. They chase the truck driver, but the car explodes, destroying their evidence and escalating the danger surrounding Therrien. The blast also deepens the mystery surrounding the case.

Back at Therrien's home, they discover a large marijuana grow-op in the basement and uncover another body, former hockey team owner Grossbut. A laser tripwire is triggered during their search, and a bomb explodes, setting the house on fire.

The smoke and fumes from the burning marijuana leave them dazed and hysterical. Chief Roger Leboeuf disciplines them and removes them from the case, sending the investigation to a pause while they recover.

A new victim, Martina Flabcheeks, the League's first woman agent, is discovered in Toronto. The detectives notice a pattern: the killer uses tattoos as clues to the next target, and all murders are tied to major league hockey with spoofed team names.

The team realizes the tattoo signatures encode clues to the next victim and that each murder is connected to hockey in satirical fashion. They anticipate Pickleton as the next target, but he goes missing before they can reach him.

Ward and Bouchard appear on a hockey broadcast to warn the community about the killer. The Tattoo Killer phones in, threatening them and triggering a heated confrontation with the neurotic anchor Tom Berry when they try to hang up.

Ward is attacked in his home by a masked assailant who is revealed to be Therrien. Meanwhile, Bouchard begins an affair with Ward's sister Iris, adding personal tension to the case.

The Tattoo Killer kidnaps Gabrielle in exchange for the league commissioner Harry Buttman, leading to the final confrontation with the two detectives. They intercept Therrien at a conference as part of the pursuit.

It is revealed that a bilingual, portly hockey fan has manipulated events with Therrien as an accomplice. The duo attempt to bargain for Gabrielle, but the killer executes Therrien and detonates him with his own explosive. Ward distracts the killer while Bouchard frees Gabrielle, and the killer is blown up by the explosive he carries.

In the aftermath, a news report reveals that Buttman will issue a rule preventing the relocation of hockey teams. The broadcast closes with a satirical nod to hockey's role as a national symbol in Canada.
