Bodyguard

The story begins as a lad discovers a diary that reveals the past heroics of Sartaj Rana, a nobleman from Jaisinghpur. This diary recounts how Sartaj saved the life of a pregnant woman during a car accident, resulting in the birth of her daughter, Lovely, who grows up with deep gratitude towards him.

A woman approaches Sartaj seeking his help after her daughter is kidnapped by sex traffickers. She informs Sartaj that her brother is involved in the smuggling operations aboard the MV Arun Sagar, a ship bound for Thailand, and that local law enforcement is complicit in the crime.

Sartaj takes action by calling Bindra, the head of a security agency, to rescue the abducted girls. Instead of sending a team, Bindra unexpectedly assigns his top agent, Lovely Singh, who quickly takes the mission to heart upon learning it involves Sartaj.

Lovely bravely confronts the villains at the docks, battling the junior Mhatre brothers and successfully rescuing the kidnapped girls. His actions, however, invite retaliation from the Mhatre brothers, stirring a significant conflict.

Facing threats from the Mhatre brothers, Sartaj decides to hire Lovely as a bodyguard for his daughter, Divya, and her friend, Maya. Sartaj intends to marry Divya off to a suitor from London upon her graduation, which adds more pressure to Lovely's protective role.

Divya feels embarrassed by Lovely's constant presence at college, especially as he insists on wearing a formal uniform while accompanying her. She dislikes being followed around, which leads her to play pranks to try and rid herself of him.

In addition to being a bodyguard, Lovely takes on the role of a self-defense instructor for Divya and Maya. He subjects them to a rigorous fitness regimen, which strengthens their bond but also adds to Divya's irritation.

Divya concocts a fictional persona named Chhaya, who begins to distract Lovely by calling him and expressing her love for him. This leads to misunderstandings as Lovely starts to believe that Chhaya is real and becomes enamored with her.

As Lovely becomes infatuated with Chhaya, Divya grapples with her feelings for him. Despite her friend Maya's advice to keep her feelings hidden, Divya cannot resist leading Lovely on, further complicating their dynamic.

The Mhatre brothers finally locate Divya, leading to a confrontation in a bar where Lovely ends up killing one of Ranjan's men in defense of Divya. This act puts a target on his back, as the brothers vow to retaliate against Sartaj and Lovely.

Divya acknowledges her growing feelings for Lovely and expresses her love for him through the guise of Chhaya. This emotional turmoil intensifies as she understands how deeply Lovely is devoted to Sartaj's trust and honor.

Deepening regret leads Divya to create a ploy to break Lovely's heart by insisting he meet Chhaya at the railway station while hiding her true identity. Divya's plan reveals her conflicting emotions and fear of causing disappointment to Lovely.

While Sartaj tries to clarify the situation to Lovely, Vikrant attacks, leading to a chaotic battle. Lovely manages to fend off the threats, but misunderstandings between him and Sartaj escalate the conflict as the truth about Divya's feelings remain hidden.

In a climactic showdown, Lovely defeats the remaining Mhatre brothers, ensuring Divya's safety but receives a violent attack from Sartaj, who believes Lovely's intentions are dishonorable. Divya’s intervention ultimately helps mend the rift.

Years later, after Maya's death from cancer, Sartaj calls Lovely to reveal that Divya never married and has been waiting for him. This revelation finally brings Lovely and Divya back together, closing the loop on their tumultuous love story.
