Billy Madison, portrayed by Adam Sandler, is a 27-year-old heir to a wealthy empire, having lived a life of luxury as the son of the owner of Madison Hotels, a Fortune 500 company comprising 650 properties and employing 61,000 people. His daily routine involves indulging in leisure activities with his best friends, Jack and Frank, while creating chaotic distractions around his father’s lavish estate. His overwhelming state of mind, mixed with excessive sun exposure and drugs, leads him to bizarre hallucinations of penguins chasing after him, compelling him to believe that they should be returned to cooler habitats.

His life takes a downturn when an ill-timed and outrageous interruption at a dinner meeting with his father, Brian, and his father’s business partners results in chaos. Fueled by the condescending remarks of Eric Gordon, Brian’s ambitious executive vice president, Billy’s folly prompts his father to lose faith in him, culminating in Eric being chosen as the likely future CEO instead of the loyal Carl, who has dedicated 25 years to the company.
