Bernhard “Big Mäc” Maurer, a former motorcycle enthusiast turned piano teacher, is crowned “perfect motorcyclist” by the magazine Motorrad. He quits his Munich school job and is offered $50,000 to beat a Japanese team in an adventure rally from the Zugspitze to Kilimanjaro.
