Early chatter toys with the idea that a Bigfoot might be behind the violence, widening the suspect pool. The town’s fear thickens as the forest seems to close in around them.

Six young adults trespass into a closed section of a state park to camp for the weekend, turning a weekend escape into danger. After volleyball, some beers, and moments of camaraderie, the group splits up, and Bigfoot strikes with brutal force. Several campers are killed right before the audience’s eyes, shattering the illusion of a simple wildlife encounter.

Sheriff Jim Taylor and Deputy Walton arrive to investigate the killings and learn that Steve McTee—the son of a powerful oil tycoon—is among the victims. An official briefing hints that five bodies have been recovered and that a female camper is still missing. The sheriff clings to the bear as the most likely culprit, while the deputy suspects a more monstrous predator.

Across town, ex-deputy Mark Klein surfaces as a missing person and rescues a disheveled Dakota as she runs through the woods. He glimpses a Bigfoot before delivering Dakota to the hospital for care. The encounter deepens the mystery behind the killings.

At the hospital, Dr. Leonard Evans notes that the wounds don’t match bear marks, even if the paperwork will list a bear as the cause of death. The sheriff’s attempt to break the news to Dakota’s family falters when hostility greets him at their home. The situation foreshadows the danger looming over Dakota and her unborn child.

That evening, Savannah heads to the local drive-in with her boyfriend Billy. Bigfoot arrives at the drive-in, crushes Billy, and drags Savannah off into the woods. The attack marks a brutal escalation in the town’s nightmare.

Next day, Kendall Sharp and cameraman Aaron press into the woods in search of the elusive creature. They track the beast, are chased through the trees, and narrowly escape with their lives. The danger proves the threat is real and not just legend.

Back at the sheriff’s office, a posse formed by Sheriff Taylor, Deputy Walton, and Dakota’s father reunites to rejoin the search. They organize a coordinated hunt and press on into the forest with grim resolve. Tension rises as the search reveals that the danger is wider than anticipated.

Sharp and Aaron stumble upon Eddie Justertin’s hideout. Eddie fires warning shots, then a fatal shot from point-blank range narrowly misses the reporters. They sprint away, but Aaron is killed in an ensuing explosion triggered by a landmine.

Back with the posse, Deputy Walton shoots Bigfoot multiple times and finally brings down one creature. The victory is hollow, as Walton is then struck down, impaled by a spear fired from off-screen. The toll of the hunt becomes brutally personal.

Meanwhile, Zeke performs a rustic Bigfoot call, and a second creature emerges. He shoots that second Bigfoot in the head and then explains to the sheriff and Sharp that all female Bigfoot have gone extinct and that the remaining males must abduct human females to survive.

The hospital reveals Dakota’s pregnancy, adding a personal stake to the looming confrontation. The doctors confirm the pregnancy, heightening the urgency for the survivors. Dakota later faces the reality that her child could be entwined with the terror surrounding the forest.

Inside a hidden Bigfoot lair, the posse discovers Savannah alive and is rescued by the sheriff. Zeke decapitates a predator with a sledgehammer and hoists its head as a grim trophy. The girls flee the lair, but a plan to seal the cave with explosives backfires, driving a wedge between the rescue teams.

Zeke and Sheriff Taylor emerge into a clearing to face a horde of Bigfoot. They shoot a few, but ammunition runs dry and the numbers overwhelm them. Armed only with a machete and a sledgehammer, the two men are eventually ripped apart as the forest seems to swallow the survivors.
