Esther Clay, wife of District Attorney John Clay and mother of lawyer Bob Clay, conducts an affair with Jack Keene. When Jack spurns her, she kills him. Bob confesses to the shooting, leading his father to prosecute his own son, who receives a life sentence. Jack’s butler Druggett knows the truth and blackmails Esther, while Bob’s girlfriend Peg Harper summons John to the scene.
