Before Midnight

Nine years after the events of Before Sunset, Jesse and Celine are now living as a couple in Paris, raising their twin daughters who were conceived during their time together. Jesse is navigating the complexities of parenting his teenage son, Hank, who resides in Chicago with his ex-wife. After spending a summer on a scenic Greek island with Jesse and Celine, Hank is now at the airport, preparing for his flight home.

As Jesse drops off Hank, he makes a heartfelt promise to attend his school music recital in the near future. However, Hank expresses his hesitation, subtly discouraging his father from attending, hinting that it might upset his mother. He admits that his worry isn’t primarily about his mother but rather how their reunion could affect him. This leaves Jesse feeling rather perplexed about the dynamics at play.

Once outside the terminal, Jesse reunites with Celine, and together they embark on their journey home. The camera captures their drive, pulling back to reveal their life together, now filled with the joys and challenges of raising twin daughters.
