Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons

Starro was an alien parasite contained in Jor-El's laboratory on Krypton. When Krypton was destroyed, Starro escaped its containment and stowed away on the rocket carrying the infant Kal-El to Earth. However, Starro fell off the vessel during the journey and eventually made its way to Earth decades later.

Jon Kent is the son of Superman (Kal-El) and Lois Lane. As a Kryptonian-human hybrid, Jon inherited his father's Kryptonian genetics, which gave him superhuman abilities like heat vision. His powers first manifested on his 11th birthday when he accidentally used heat vision while blowing out his candles.

Jon had been frustrated by his father's frequent absences, not knowing Clark was Superman protecting the world.

Superman revealed his secret identity to Jon after Jon's heat vision manifested on his birthday. Clark decided to tell Jon the truth because he wanted honest communication with his son and believed Jon deserved to know who his father really was, especially now that Jon had developed powers of his own.

Superman had been absent from home due to his hero duties, which Jon had resented.

Starro uses parasitic spores that attach to hosts and control their minds through a hive mind. On the Watchtower, after Martian Manhunter was infected, the spores spread to Superman and Batman when they arrived to help. The spores then attempted to infect the rest of the team, taking control of the entire Justice League and Teen Titans.

Starro and its spores are vulnerable to extreme heat. Lois Lane discovered this vulnerability while at Lex Luthor's office and relayed the information to Jon. This weakness became crucial to the heroes' plan to defeat Starro by forcing the Watchtower to re-enter Earth's atmosphere where the heat would burn up the spores.

Since Starro's spores are vulnerable to heat, Jon and Damian devised a plan to force the Watchtower out of orbit and into Earth's atmosphere. The intense heat from re-entry would burn up all the Starro spores, freeing the possessed heroes. After evacuating the controlled heroes on a spacecraft, they set the Watchtower on a collision course with Earth to destroy Starro.

After successfully defeating Starro together, Jon Kent and Damian Wayne discussed what to call their partnership. Drawing from their fathers' identities as Superman and Batman, they combined their hero names to create 'Super-Sons' - a name that reflects their shared legacy as the next generation of heroes.

Damian Wayne discovered through his investigation in the Batcave that Starro intended to infect Jon next. Despite having a rocky start with Jon, Damian chose to protect him because he recognized Jon's importance in stopping Starro. Damian had already successfully fought off a possession attempt by slicing apart a spore that tried to infect him.

When Lois Lane was infected by Starro's spore and came to Smallville to capture Jon, Damian helped him escape. Jon then used his heat vision directly on the Starro spore attached to Lois, burning it away and freeing her from the alien parasite's control.

Starro's main body survived the atmospheric burn because it was large enough to withstand the heat initially. After the Watchtower crashed to Earth, Starro emerged and confronted the heroes. However, it was ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of Jon, Damian, Batman, and Superman in the final battle.
