An Irish woman, Cathy (Pauline Cadell), loves her Portuguese lawyer husband Pedro (Rui Morisson), unaware of his constant affairs. She helps a heroin‑addicted youth, while his mother joins an odd cult. Meanwhile, an elderly man spirals into grief after his granddaughter vanishes at a train station, and a down‑and‑out jeweler leads a young girl to a hotel room.
