In the rain-soaked streets of Washington DC in 1989, the friendship between George, Max, and Ricky began to deteriorate. Their shared musical aspirations were stifled by personal crises, with Ricky's unreliability, Max's childish behavior, and George's emotional withdrawal due to his romance with Lynn.

To support themselves, the trio took jobs in the cafeteria of a criminally insane asylum. They worked alongside the eccentric staff, including William, and the patients, establishing a routine that intertwined their lives with those of the inmates.

As the head chef, George took pride in crafting culinary masterpieces and was known for his kindness towards the inmates. His commitment provided him with a sense of purpose, contrasting sharply with the chaos in his personal life.
