Daniel D’Souza, Mammootty, breaks out from a mental asylum on Christmas Eve, shortly after Immanuel Innocent visits him. He heads to Williams’ home and murders him, then goes to Immanuel’s house after the deed. When Immanuel greets him, Danny reveals that his escape is driven by a vow to take revenge on the people who ruined his life.
The film then shifts into a long flashback that paints the backstory in vivid detail. Immanuel Innocent and his daughter Catherine are an Anglo-Indian family living with a modest two-wheeler workshop. Immanuel harbors a dream of one day sending Catherine to England to live with a Britisher, a dream that colors the family’s choices. Danny, along with his sidekick Tool, arrives at the workshop after Danny had asked a mutually known church priest to help him find a skilled mechanic. The workshop is rebuilt and soon thriving, drawing in more customers and profit, yet tension remains between Danny and Catherine. Catherine, ever curious and wary of Danny’s troubled past, begins to soften toward him as she sees his humanity beneath the rough exterior.
As their relationship deepens and they become engaged, the couple faces constant interference from Rajesh and his gang at a restaurant. Danny, who had earlier beaten Rajesh and his gang over a dispute involving Tool, is drawn into violent confrontations again. On a Christmas night, while Immanuel is drunk and asleep, Rajesh and his gang ambush Catherine and injure Tool. Danny returns to discover Tool dying and Catherine in grave danger, and he gives chase after the assailants.
The pursuit leads to a chaotic, multi-story building under construction where Catherine, fearing further harm, leaps to her death. Danny reaches the top in a rage-filled pursuit of Rajesh and his men, but the police intervene. Rajesh and his cohort attempt to pin the crime on Danny, branding him a psychopath as they press charges. He is subsequently convicted and admitted to the mental asylum.
Back in the present, it’s revealed that Williams was one of Rajesh’s friends. He eliminates the other three accomplices and finally stabs Rajesh to death, completing Danny’s long quest for vengeance. After his grim victory, Daniel returns to his cell in the asylum and proclaims that he will stay there forever, a man who has paid a heavy price for the life he once lived.
