Daisy Moriarty — Lili Reinhart is a social media content moderator who reviews flagged posts for an unnamed platform, working under strict quotas and a manager who rules with an iron fist. The office atmosphere is intensely stressful, with coworkers pushed to the brink by rigid rules, sudden panic attacks, and frequent meltdowns, all while an odd alligator skulks around a man-made pond nearby.

To cope with the daily grind, Daisy tries to maintain a semblance of normal life, but she finds herself leaning on sex, drugs, and alcohol to numb the mounting pressure. The relentless exposure to disturbing imagery begins to erode her sense of well-being, making sleep stubbornly hard and leaving her social connections frayed and distant.

Then a single post shatters her routine. The video isn’t shown in full, but glimpses and the conversations it spawns suggest something brutally violent and mechanized. Daisy becomes obsessed with accountability, fixated on finding the person responsible, convinced that stopping them is a moral imperative. Yet both her boss and the police dismiss her concerns as fake or outside their jurisdiction, leaving her to chase clues on her own.

With little concrete evidence and no detective training, she dives into an internet‑driven hunt, chasing dead ends and wild rumors that pull her deeper into a dangerous online underworld. The pursuit tests her mental limits and forces her to confront the harsh realities of online culture—the line between vigilantism and violence begins to blur. Frustration erupts into action: she attacks a crude bartender, her hands stained with blood, and, for the first time in a long while, she sleeps through the night.

A coworker eventually hands her a name—the man from the video—and Daisy steels herself to enact justice in the real world. But the investigation takes a grim turn when a video surfaces showing Daisy assaulting the bartender, a stark reminder that she is becoming the very thing she despised. The act pushes her to quit her job and begin a slow path toward healing, even as she pursues a new opportunity in healthcare.

In a final twist, Daisy sits for an interview at a prestigious firm, only to discover the interviewer is the very man she’s been chasing. She turns to address the audience, breaking the fourth wall with a faint, unsettling smile that leaves the outcome unresolved. The office’s lurking alligator remains behind her, hinting that retribution may still come—perhaps in a darker or more ambiguous form than she anticipated.
