Prabha and Anu are two Malayali nurses cohabiting in Mumbai. Prabha is depicted as strict and principled, often reminiscing about her husband who migrated to Germany shortly after their marriage.

While living together, Anu starts a clandestine relationship with a Muslim man named Shiaz. The secrecy of their affair adds tension to their otherwise close friendship.

A doctor named Manoj becomes interested in Prabha and makes several attempts to win her affection. However, Prabha consistently rebuffs his advances, emphasizing her marital status and loyalty to her husband.

One day, a modern rice cooker is delivered to Prabha and Anu from an unknown sender. This mysterious gift piques their curiosity and serves as a symbol of change in their lives.

Prabha becomes involved in the struggles of a hospital cook named Parvaty, who is fighting against a builder aiming to demolish her chawl for a new high-rise. Prabha lends her support in the fight against capitalism and injustice.

Faced with the inability to claim ownership of her land, Parvaty decides to quit her job and return to her village in Ratnagiri. Prabha and Anu offer to accompany her, showing their dedication to support their friend.

Unbeknownst to Prabha and Parvaty, Shiaz discreetly follows Anu on her journey. Their secret meetings continue, revealing more of the complex dynamics between the characters.

Anu and Shiaz indulge in their passionate affair, secretly meeting up for intimate encounters. However, their relationship becomes fraught with complications when Prabha discovers their secret.

During a critical moment, Prabha saves a middle-aged man from drowning using her CPR skills. This act of heroism showcases her compassionate nature and dedication as a nurse.

After the man is admitted to the hospital, Prabha cares for him, initiating heartfelt conversations. As they talk, he embodies the essence of her husband, creating emotional turmoil for Prabha.

The man, resembling Prabha’s husband, apologizes for his past abandonment and seeks forgiveness. The intensity of their exchange leads him to kiss her, blurring the lines between reality and her memories.

That night at a beach shack, Prabha displays newfound happiness. In a light-hearted spirit, she invites Shiaz to join her and Anu, signaling a shift in her emotional state as they share a moment together.

As they sit together at the beach shack, the atmosphere is filled with laughter and camaraderie. The three characters find solace in each other's company, transcending their previous troubles.
