Based on Ray Bradbury’s short story, the film follows a class of children on a planet where the sun appears for only a few minutes every nine years. They eagerly await the promised end of endless rain, yet they resent a new Earth‑born student who still recalls sunlight. The narrative explores suffering, jealousy and forgiveness, while the production softens the original’s abrupt ending without losing its punch. It earned a CINE Golden Eagle and was named one of Instructor Magazine’s 25 Best Films of the year.
