Ciro is a 30-year-old graphic designer living in Naples who keeps afloat by working at a Chinese fry shop. He searches for a better job, trying several leads and attending interviews that rarely pan out. Despite everyday struggles, he dreams of recognition for his talent.

A nerd friend Fabio encourages him to enter a contest tied to the release of a new action sci-fi film and to send his resume into space. To everyone's surprise, aliens read his resume and invite him to meet their leader Brandon. The invitation hints at a chance to prove himself in a vastly different world.

Ciro is whisked into an interview with the alien company and is offered a position on the spot. He is tasked with designing the alien company logo, a job that tests his creativity under alien standards. The recruitment confirms a radical shift from Earth corporate life to a meritocratic alien environment.

In this company, talent is recognized and rewarded based on results. Ciro quickly earns respect and feels finally valued. He begins to see a future where his work truly matters.

Brendon shows him how his logo will be applied to a gigantic cannon and Ciro learns that Earth will be destroyed to settle a debt from humans' use of solar energy. The revelation shocks him, turning his dream job into a race against time to save humanity. He realizes the stakes are much higher than he anticipated.

Ciro tries to dissuade Brandon but fails. He steals a dematerializer that instantly teleports to the dump planet Dimension X and returns to Earth to find a way to save humanity.

He decides to face Brandon and leads an assault on the spaceship using toy guns, aided by Fabio and Matilda. During the prelude, he confesses his love to Matilda and they share a kiss. They set course to board the spaceship.

The trio encounters the singer Gigi D'Alessio, who has been held captive and turned into a robot aboard the ship. Matilda sings the song Un nuovo bacio, restoring his consciousness. He joins the trio to help in their mission.

Janine, an armored robot who was once Ciro's secretary, shoots D'Alessio during the chaos. The trio confronts Janine and fights her. Ciro manages to deactivate Janine and continue their mission.

They locate Brandon; he offers indefinite contracts to all three; the trio refuses, choosing instead to be heroes. They reaffirm their commitment to stopping the destruction with courage rather than greed. The battle reaches its turning point as they stand their ground.

Brandon activates the cannon and reveals that the debt amounts to 37 euros. The three search their pockets and gather the coins, saving Earth just moments before its destruction. The plan succeeds, and the looming catastrophe is averted.

A few months later, Ciro works with Fabio as a videomaker for weddings and birthdays. His romance with Matilda ends after a few days, and she now works at Brandon's company having married an alien. More unemployed graduates are hired by the company.

In the final scene, the Lord of Dimension X encounters the illegal parking attendant sent by Fabio and realizes that he is an Earthling. Convinced that Earthlings are using Dimension X as a dumpsite, he declares the start of an invasion of Earth.
