Zincirbozan, written by journalist Avni Özgürel, dramatizes Turkey’s turbulent 1979‑1983 period. It chronicles key events such as journalist Abdi İpekçi’s assassination, rising terrorism that led to the 1980 military coup, politicians’ failed attempts to curb the violence, the army’s takeover and the exile of leading figures. The title refers to the Zincirbozan complex in Çanakkale where many officials were detained, shedding light on lesser‑known aspects of the era.
