Tomislav, a former Partizan, remains entrenched in the post‑war struggle as a loyal officer of Tito’s secret police. When he encounters a ballet dancer from an affluent, bourgeois family, he becomes passionately involved with her. This forbidden romance with a perceived class enemy, coupled with his uneasy adjustment to the new reality, threatens to bring about his ruin.
