Set during the 1956 Hungarian uprising in Budapest, the film follows a ten‑year‑old boy and his family. At first the children enjoy school closures, unaware of the turmoil, but soon kids and adults realize something terrible: relatives and friends disappear, some are killed, and troops are sent to crush the counter‑revolutionary rebellion.
