An homage to the cleverness and wit of the modest peasant Čupera, who overcomes both the demon of alcoholism and an unyielding, bureaucratic devil. His grueling withdrawal is visualized as a bleak shantytown, a cramped galley bearing a prison‑like atmosphere, and a dehumanized nightclub, underscoring the nightmarish struggle.
