After her sister’s suicide on the wedding day—caused by a jilted fiancé—Layla vows never to marry, believing all men are liars. Her father, hoping to change her mind, writes to Ahmed, an editor at the local newspaper, describing her trauma. Ahmed’s friend Kamal, a well‑known womanizer who wants to settle down, is urged to meet Layla. Kamal courts her, they become engaged, but when Layla discovers troubling details about his past, she calls off the wedding, sparking further complications.
