Gian, a 65-year-old ethnomusicology professor, struggles with the sudden onset of amnesia, battling a pervasive darkness. Troubled by fragmented memories and hazy archival footage, he attempts suicide but fails. His estranged daughter, Miriam, and her son Elyas move in, providing support as he tries to piece together his past. They discover a diary from his twenties detailing a brief but intense romance with a woman named Leila. This rediscovered passion intensifies his emotional pain but also motivates him to fight for his memories.
