A 13-year-old boy, Ady, disregards his solitary father's guidance, leading the man to send him to his uncle Amadou in Burkina Faso for the summer. Across the Mediterranean, Ady discovers a different culture and a new understanding of what it means to grow up. While his uncle's family welcomes him, Ady’s perspective on becoming a man is challenged as he experiences a world far removed from his own.
