A freelance journalist, Luca Attorre, faces financial struggles to support his family: his ballerina wife, Susi, and their imaginative daughter, Lucilla, who battles severe asthma. They rely on the economic assistance of Luca’s seventeen-year-old son, Pierpaolo, who lives with his wealthy mother and grandfather, a prominent lawyer. Caught in the midst of their complex relationships is Mary Ann, a devout Irish art history student and au pair for young Lucilla, navigating a vibrant and often perplexing Rome.
