Vijay goes to Pournami’s house for a prospective first alliance meeting, hoping to start something new. He has just completed his B.Tech, a long journey that stretched over more than five years, with make-up exams included. He comes across as laid-back, not overly driven to work, and his big dream is to become a chef who opens a restaurant of his own. Yet his father seems uninterested in supporting that dream, and the weight of expectation sits heavy on Vijay.

Pournami is the polar opposite in many ways: intensely focused, hardworking, and determined to fulfill her own goal of going to Australia. But her father is wary of her plans, particularly because she is a girl, and he doesn’t approve of leaving home to pursue distant dreams. When the two meet at the matrimonial first gathering, fate nudges them in an unusual way: Pournami’s younger cousin accidentally locks the door, and the two are left outside, forced to spend time together and share their histories.

When it’s Vijay’s turn to share, the tone shifts to a more chaotic, humorous past. He admits he was unemployed for a stretch, idling with two friends while cooking videos and flashy ideas filled the screen. They pivoted to prank videos, only to be caught in the act by Vijay’s father’s brother, derailing their plans. A job in a call-center comes next, secured at his father’s urging, yet it proves unsatisfying: he starts dating a girl to impress his friends, only to have the relationship exposed when her real boyfriend calls at work. A heated clash with his boss prompts him to quit.

Amid these confessions, Vijay realizes he has arrived at the wrong address for his matchmaking event. When he finally attends the correct one, it is with a wealthy family in mind, while Pournami, for her part, bluntly tells the prospective groom she isn’t interested in marriage at all. The two decide to combine forces and run a food truck together, with Vijay stepping into the kitchen as the chef and Pournami taking charge of the business side. Their initial run is rocky, marked by laziness and clashes in vision, and at one point they even give up on the venture.

A turning point arrives when Vijay’s grandmother visits Pournami’s home and speaks with honesty and warmth about pride and responsibility. Her encouragement bolsters Pournami and strengthens the resolve of both families to let them pursue their shared dream. Pournami proves her seriousness by cooking one of Vijay’s recipes, convincing everyone that he is a real, talented cook. With their families’ blessing, they restart the business, and the food truck quickly grows into a smashing success. In the process, the bond between them deepens, and love begins to bloom, even though both are already engaged to other people, causing moments of distance as they navigate those commitments.

Realization of their true feelings finally brings them back together, aided by a radio show organized by a friend, with the unwavering support of their loved ones. They revive the food truck venture with renewed energy, and the presence of K.S. Chitra adds a celebratory note to the journey. In the end, the couple’s perseverance pays off, and it is revealed that they have married, tying their love and ambition into a single, shared dream that honors both of their aspirations and the families that stood by them.
