The film reconstructs the historic 1963 Frankfurt trial, using archived recordings of more than 200 Auschwitz survivors. Directors Rolf Bickel and Dietrich Wagner weave these testimonies into a narrative that follows twenty‑two former SS members—many of whom had built comfortable post‑war lives in West Germany—who were confronted by 360 witnesses and charged with the murder of millions.
