Vanessa Anden is a misfit student at a Bavarian convent who travels to Hong Kong after the sudden death of her uncle Richard to claim his estate. There she meets Jackie, the niece of Richard’s attorney and closest ally, Anthony Grüder. Jackie introduces Vanessa to another key figure in Richard’s orbit: Cle, Cle is married to the wealthy and controlling Major Kenneth Cooper.
