Valley of Flowers

Jalan's gang raids Silk Route travelers and stumbles upon a demonic mask that intrigues Jalan. The mask hints at power beyond mere theft and becomes a catalyst for their later ambition. This discovery marks a turning point in their criminal life.

A woman named Ushna appears, claiming to know Jalan from dreams and asks to join the group. Jalan is instantly drawn to her beauty and aura, despite warnings from his companions.

Ushna becomes the group's muse and lover; Jalan falls in love; the two begin a passionate relationship and begin to shape their ambitions beyond ordinary plunder by targeting shadows and other metaphysical riches.

They consult an astrologer who prophesies they are not destined to unite. Refusing the omen, they resolve to challenge fate and pursue a shared destiny.

They resolve to steal fortunes and energies by stealing shadows, shifting their aims from material plunder toward metaphysical theft. The plan marks a radical departure from their previous crimes.

In their pursuit of power, they divest a meditating Yogi of his levitation ability. This stolen power allows them to rise during a theft and defy ordinary limits.

Jampa La witnesses Jalan and Ushna's airborne act; Jalan accidentally kills Jampa La during the ensuing conflict. The group splits, with Hak Chi rebuking Jalan for betraying their rules.

Mercants seek protection from Yeti, the local protector. He and his three bounty hunters pursue Jalan and Ushna, who manage to escape, though Jalan slips into a river while Ushna rides away on horseback.

Ushna confronts Yeti in his tent; he recognizes her from the victims' descriptions and warns that she cannot belong with Jalan. She declines his warning and vanishes as Yeti prepares his Chöd gear.

Jalan and Ushna reach a monastery and learn of the Elixir of Life. They steal the Elixir and drink, hoping for immortality, and reserve some for days to come.

The next morning, Yeti confronts them; Jalan, in his pride, shoots Ushna to demonstrate immortality. Yeti rebukes them, and Jalan becomes a bereaved immortal rather than free from death.

Two centuries pass as Jalan travels to Tokyo as Jalan Otsal, a controversial Indian euthanasia doctor. He is despised by locals and protesters, and he survives a live 62-storey jump that captivates the news.

Sayuri, Ushna's reincarnation, is a pub singer who recognizes Jalan from a telecast. They reunite on a subway and, in a temple, Jalan presents the Elixir he preserved. The encounter is intensified by hints of karma and reincarnation.

Yeti reminds them of karma and impermanence, and Jalan receives a symbolic White Flower. Sayuri and Jalan are struck by a flower-delivery truck; Jalan dies and Sayuri dissolves into fumes as Yeti retrieves the demon mask, ending their saga.
