In the midst of a treacherous evacuation, a landslide strikes, sending the bus she is on tumbling into a river, resulting in her untimely death. Though Joe tries to maintain a facade of normalcy and failingly buries his sorrow, an eerie encounter with a dragonfly paperweight—a cherished symbol of Emily’s passion—awakens a torrent of memories.
