Soori is the narrator and the central heartbeat of this story, a young man who carries a quiet, complicated love for his cousin Uma Devi. The world around them is sharply divided: Uma Devi comes from the grandeur of a mansion owned by her family, led by her father Ranga Raju, while Soori and his widowed mother live in a modest house nearby. Soori tends to the village’s fish ponds, a humbling, grounding detail that frames his simple life and the stark social divide between them. In this circle, two friends shape the course of events: Kodanda, a tech-savvy and talkative confidant, and Vasu, a gullible companion who stubbornly clings to a “Be positive” attitude. The neighborhood also features the charming Sunitha, Uma Devi’s close friend who toys with Soori’s attentions, often becoming the target of his flirty teases.

As Uma Devi grows older, she discovers love elsewhere, falling for a young techie named Parthu Parthu. This development unsettles Soori, who studies her actions from a distance and begins to suspect that her feelings may be shifting away from him. Driven by concern and a stubborn hope, Soori teams up with [Vasu] to shadow Uma Devi and learn the truth. Their stake in the situation deepens when they uncover that Parthu works as a mechanic at Hero Motorcorp in a town nearby. In a bold move, Soori contacts Parthu, signaling his interest in purchasing the bike Parthu uses, setting the stage for a confrontation. After a tense test drive, Soori delivers a harsh blow to Parthu, who is wounded and then tries to pressure Uma Devi to elope with him, arguing that his father has arranged his marriage elsewhere. When Uma Devi expresses fear, Parthu goes as far as threatening self-harm to force her hand, and she reluctantly agrees to run away.

The next chapter explodes in rage and action. Rangaraju, Uma Devi’s father, unleashes upheaval at home, and with the help of Sunitha, Soori discovers that Uma Devi has indeed left for a town called Tuni. Parthu and his aides attempt to kidnap her as she exits a bus, and Parthu himself tries to seize her belongings. Soori, [Kodanda], and [Vasu] surge to the rescue, pulling Uma Devi from danger. In a moment of dramatic irony, Soori reveals that the love letter Parthu wrote for Uma Devi was not even his own—it was written in blood from a hen, a detail that shatters Parthu’s ruse and leaves Uma Devi furious at his manipulations. In a surprising twist, Uma Devi decides to take control of her fate. She adds sleeping pills to the Lassi she serves to the groom, planning to reveal her own true feelings to Soori afterward. When he runs toward the house, hoping to be with her, she finally explains why she acted this way: she mixed the pills to stop the marriage because she realizes she cannot imagine life without him. The moment culminates in a sincere confession and a decision to reconcile, leading to a mutual agreement to marry with the blessing of their families and the courage to redefine their futures together.

Throughout this journey, the film stays grounded in the emotional core of unspoken love, family duty, and the everyday moments that build trust. It balances warmth and humor with the weight of parental expectations and social constraints, all the while painting a vivid portrait of a village life where lakes, ponds, and a bustling town distant from the mansion’s gates frame the characters’ choices.
