Humanity coexists with the demon Makai and half‑beast Jujinkai. Every 3,000 years the Overfiend, called the Chōjin, restores balance. In modern Japan, Jujinkai Amano Jyaku discovers that slacker Tatsuo Nagumo houses the Chōjin.
