Following the sudden death of her husband in an accident, Colette's life takes a dramatic turn. The tragedy seems to bring her closer to her daughter Gabrielle, a young woman struggling with bulimia and working as a high-end escort. Gabrielle becomes intensely curious about Joseph, a Belgian philosophy teacher visiting Montreal, peppering him with questions about life and existence.
