An alien plague corrupts the Transformers, turning them into unstoppable destroyers. The only chance for salvation is to bring back Optimus Prime, who must set aside old rivalries and join former enemies in a desperate quest to retrieve the Matrix of Leadership and prevent Cybertron’s annihilation.
